UQ Aikido

Self Esteem Self Control Self Defence

Welcome to UQ Aikido

The UQ Aikido dojo is an affiliated University of Queensland sports club and is a proud member the Aikido Koikikai family.

Kokikiai Aikido is taught in accordance with the four principals developed by our founder and president, Shuji Maruyama Sensei.

  • Keep One Point to develop calmness
  • Relax progressively
  • Find correct posture in everything
  • Develop your positive mind

Steve Henderson (Shodan) has been practicing Aikido Kokikkai in Brisbane for ten years and is the UQ dojo’s lead instructor. He regularly attends annual camps and seminars with Maruyama Sensei and other Kokikai instructors from all over Australia and Japan.

Steve Sensei provides a safe, friendly and relaxed training environment where students can unlock their full potential studying Aikido.
